Stand Under Nothing - Rock/Grunge - Topeka, Ks

First of I would like to say that this is a nostalgia piece, and unfortunately SUN isn't releasing anything new, but rather I am revisiting what could be hailed at one of Topeka's lost wonders.

Stand Under Nothing, SUN for short, was a Topeka based Rock/Grunge band that found a large following in the mid 2000's in the Topeka music scene, with a self titled release. The album toted 10 hard hitting songs, which followed a number of hot button issues including suicide and drugs, with melodic riffs and resonating backup vocals that made the album an all-around experience.

I began following the band in approximately 2006,  seen them perform in various different venues and even for a themed party.
The band had such an outstanding following that once while attending one of their shows the Fire Marshals had to come and get a head count because the bar was over its occupancy limit.

No new material has been released since 2008, when the band apparently traveled to Georgia, and recorded two new songs with a well known producer, a Reverbnation page remains running.

On the band's Reverbnation, there are currently three songs, all available for download.
Of the three available songs "Hollow Grey" is undeniably my favorite, illustrating a confused, frustration and generally emotional output.

I suggest you check them out.
